UK general election

A general election is on the way in the UK.  Will you be asking supporters to send messages to local candidates?  We have an election product that will connect your supporters to the future MP of their constituency - whichever party!

Are you getting organised to campaign in the lead up to the next general election?  We have some great tools that you can use to ask supporters to send messages to local candidates from all of the major parties.

If you are not already a client of Advocacy Online, please contact us for more information.  We also encourage you to read through the information below and click on the link at the bottom of the page to try out our candidate database.

Here are some general tips when considering an election campaigning strategy (based on our experience over eight general elections in the UK, Canada, Scotland, Wales, and the EU!):

  • candidates absolutely prefer to have local voters contact them before the campaign gets underway - they have more time to respond
  • candidate databases are usually only 50% to 70% complete before the election is actually called as some constituencies are hosting nomination meetings well into the campaign and right up to the nomination deadline
  • your supporters will complain if their list of candidates does not include everyone from the major parties - unless you let them know that their list may be incomplete because not all candidates are nominated!

So, you can see from the above points that it is better for you to launch actions earlier, providing that your supporter understand that lists are going to be incomplete right up to the nomination deadline.

The next general election in the UK will be contested on the basis of new constituency boundaries and constituency names.  We have managed to license data to complete the postcode mapping to the new constituencies.
